A man named Barry Sears created the fad diet called the Zone diet. It's planned as a permanent diet to be eaten throughout a person's life. Although less restrictive on carbohydrates than the Atkins diet, it is a low carbohydrate diet.

The zone diet relies on a 40 to 30 to 30 balance of calories from carbs, proteins and fats. Television studies have concluded that the diet can work. They also concluded that the zone diet can help people gain muscle in addition to losing weight. In addition, people found the zone diet the easiest to maintain of all the low carb diets.
The zone diet creates a perfect balance of insulin and glucagen which causes the body to release chemicals similar in effect to those found in aspirin. Sears also said the diet would help make the heart healthier. The zone diet also creates a state in which the body stops storing fat. Thus, with no fat stored, and with stored fat used as energy, the body loses weight. Various supplements were later added to the diet to deliver certain beneficial fatty acids.
A typical zone diet meal was described by its creator in the following manner. In every meal eat enough protein to fit in the palm of your hand, as many non-starchy raw vegetables as you can take, just enough carbohydrates to maintain mental clarity, and just enough oils to stop hunger.
This zone diet has a famous weight loss case in its files, that of the man who weighed over 1200 pounds. He had tried every diet and even liposuction, but after 24 months on the zone diet he lost about 400 pounds. The man's current diet consists of 2000 calories broken up into six meals per day. It includes egg white omelets, fresh salads, chicken, fish, and other healthy foods mandated by the zone diet.

Flat Stomach Exercise - Flat Stomach With Dieting Only?
A lot of people I know are dieting. A good part of these people are very fanatic with their diet They are nearly starving themselves, reducing their calorie intake to a few hundred per day, but they don't even think about exercising. This fact in itself is a very interesting paradox. They are restricting their food consumption for a couple of weeks or even months, but there is no way that they would get out and exercise a couple of times weekly! Doing a flat stomach exercise additional to their diet, would help them getting their goals a lot faster.
Surely with a flat stomach exercise alone you will not lose any weight, but it will be very helpful in redistributing stomach fat. A great deal of people are especially upset with the fact how their stomach looks like. Too much belly fat is greatly disliked nowadays and a wonderful way to get rid of it is of course doing a flat stomach exercise. Generally, everybody likes to have lean, toned stomach muscles, or not? I, myself sure want to have them!

Despite I cherish to visit the gym to exercise, there where times I did not have the time to go. I would have to do my flat stomach exercise, along with my cardiovascular workout, at home. In the beginning this looked like a hard job, but you can find many different kinds of ab machines in the stores that help you with your stomach exercises. With them the exercises are much easier for your back with them as they help you witch the crunches and situps - and I find that the exercises are mor effective with them. Although they are not necessary for flat stomach exercises, they are pretty affordable and seem to really help. I never asked a doctor and I don't know what they say about them, but I can only recommend them through my own experience.
